ABSTRACT

The quality of nurses’ education in theoretical and clinical fields is critical. During the COVID-19 pandemic, nursing education faced new challenges. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the training course experience and virtual education satisfaction from the point of view of nursing students in Iran during the COVID-19 pandemic and their relationship with academic performance. This cross-sectional study was performed on 509 nursing, operating room, and anesthesiology students in 2020. Virtual education satisfaction had a significant correlation with training course experience. The domain with the strongest association with the total score of training course experience was good teaching. However, in a logistic regression model only being an older student, being male and using a laptop in classes were statistically significantly associated with better academic performance. The educational needs of students and the strengths and weaknesses of virtual education satisfaction should be considered and the necessary action should be taken to improve the academic courses.
