ABSTRACT

This research investigates the mediating role of social capital, and its subscales in the relationship between religiosity and psychological well-being among older adults. The variables were measured through DUREL, Persian Version of WHO-5 Well-being Index, and SASCAT, respectively. PROCESS Macro model 4 method demonstrated social capital (b = 0.148, z = 3.934, p < .01) and social participation (b = 0.139, z = 3.816, p < .01) mediate the effect of religiosity on psychological well-being. It seems that the social potential of religion can be used to improve the psychological well-being of the older people.
