ABSTRACT

The original manuscript by the authors presents a valuable set of literature highlighting the influence of grain shape from a critical state perspective by assimilating a large collection of literature. This has also been supplemented by their individual efforts to predict the overall regularity – a grain shape, considering grain size parameters. While acknowledging the novelty of their work, the discussers also found a couple of potential loopholes that need attention. It must be explicitly mentioned that the purpose of the discussers is not to criticise or underwhelm the originality of the work, but simply to exercise caution about some of the observations and equations presented.
