Canadian Lynx Press Release

The Taylor & Francis journals team enjoyed an exciting morning recently as an article in a popular biology journal enjoyed global media attention following publication in April 2013. The “big cat” press release was picked up by a large number of news agencies.

The most notable report came from the BBC journalist, Rebecca Morelle, who spread the news via the BBC website, Twitter and even some video content. The story also featured on BBC Breakfast TV, BBC Radio 2, BBC World Service and radio show Material World, and was covered by The LA Times, NBC, Sky News, ITV, The Telegraph, The Independent and The Daily Mail and amongst others. After seven days, the article had been downloaded 1,600 times.

Newsworthy or topical articles can have a Press Release created. Our streamlined process minimises time between online article publication and mass media awareness, often down to just a few hours.

As standard, each Press Release is:

  • Launched on CisionPoint (up to 5,000 media/industry contacts)

  • Launched on Alpha Galileo (optimising SEO by placing the story on online message boards)

  • Highlighted across subject-level and company-level social media accounts

  • Hosted on the T&F Newsroom, our webpage dedicated to the latest news releases

  • Supported by an email to internal, academic mailing lists to broaden further interest
