Kevin N. Hicks

Kevin Hicks serves as academic advisor at University of North Carolina at Charlotte while pursuing a graduate degree in geography at the university. Kevin has a master’s degree in social studies teacher education from Winthrop University. He was a participating educator in the NEH summer institute on “The Role of Geographic Mobility in the African American Freedom Struggle,” held in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 2022.

Joshua L. Kenna

Joshua L. Kenna is an associate professor of social science education in the Department of Theory and Practice in Teacher Education at the University of Tennessee. His research interests include the teaching and learning of social studies particularly through films and social issues, experiential learning such as field trips and service-learning projects, standards-­based educational reforms, and literacy in social studies.
