ABSTRACT
This article explores the nonlinear, creative process of Pacia Sallomi’s paintings from the perspective of one series called Roundabouts. The series is inspired by indigenous artistic practices, Tibetan mandalas, contemplative practices, and life experiences. There are fifteen color images of paintings with contextual descriptions.

Pacia Sallomi
Pacia Sallomi graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a BS in Community Nutrition and Psychology. She was a homebirth midwife and an articles editor for Mothering Magazine in New Mexico for thirteen years. Her publications include a booklet, Midwifery and the Law (1982/1994) and a poetry-painting collaboration, Shield_Le Bouclier (2007). In 1997 she completed her MFA in Studio Art from Texas Tech University. From 1997–2021, she taught photography, painting, drawing, and Creative Travel Journals at Carroll University in Wisconsin. She has been included in over 150 exhibitions, nationally and internationally. She loves to travel and has attended artist residencies in France, Italy, and Australia.
