Abstract
Famous in India, and now expanding in Dubai, property developer Sobha is a master builder in the old sense, undertaking itself most of the jobs a conventional developer would give to contractors. Its founder, the billionaire PNC Menon, trusts only Sobha people for everything from masterplanning and the design and engineering of individual buildings to project management, civils, MEP, masonry, joinery and landscaping. The company even makes its own furniture for the luxury apartments it sells. David Rogers went to Dubai to see how, and why, they do it.
