Editor’s Note

On behalf of the editorial board, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all contributors to and participants in the successful publishing of all issues of the International Journal of Sustainable Building Technology and Urban Development in 2016. Since January 2012, Taylor & Francis (UK) has published the SUSB journal and distributed it through their network. We hope this will provide us with significant opportunities to disseminate our efforts on a global level. As indexed in the SCOPUS database since 2013, there has been rapidly growing research papers application, which makes, I am sure, this journal stage up for the better built environmental. I would like to express my appreciation to all the members of the editorial board and all of our contributors.

Four technical papers are published in this issue which ranges widely in scope from material of building to occupant thermal comfort according to theoretical or experimental assessment as follows: ‘Effect of excess dosages of superplasticizer on the properties of highly sustainable high-volume fly ash concrete’ by Alaka et al., ‘Impact of roof shape on air pressure, wind flow and indoor temperature of residential buildings’ by Mahdavinejad and Javanroodi, ‘New block design and laying parameters for interlocking concrete block pavements to improve human thermal comfort levels in urban spaces’ by Hettiarachchi and Mampearachchi, and ‘The adoption of green roofs for the retrofitting of existing buildings in the Mediterranean climate’ by Gagliano et al.

Finally, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all the contributors and participants who have made this journal possible.
