ABSTRACT
An analytic method is proposed to synthesise linear antenna arrays in order to have a main lobe and a specified number of sidelobes whose levels and widths are to arbitrary. This method is based on synthesising the array factor as the Summation of Contiguous Independent Lobes (SCIL). These independent lobes are similar to each other except that their levels and widths are individually specified. Then, an explicit relation is obtained for excitation currents through Fourier’s series theorem. Some examples are brought to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
