Special issue information

Forthcoming special issue marking 50 years of LGS: The past, present and future of local government studies

Local Government Studies will celebrate its half-century in 2024. To mark this milestone, the journal will publish a special issue at the end of 2024, edited by Catherine Durose (Chair of the Editorial Board) and Peter Eckersley (Managing Editor). Alongside a full-length lead article by the current Editorial team, we will feature short (2500 to 3500-word) pieces that speak to the theme of a half-century of LGS. Contributions will pick up on key aspects of change and continuity within Local Government Studies as a journal and the field more broadly. As well as looking back, the special issue will feature contributions that look forward and beyond the current scope of the journal.
