Investment Analysts Journal 50th Anniversary Collection
Introduction to the 50th anniversary collection edition of the Investment Analysts Journal
November 1972 marked the occasion of the first issue of the “Investment Analysts Journal” – at that time also referred to as “Die Beleggingsnavorsers Tydskrif” in Afrikaans – which is the official journal of the Investment Analysts Society of South Africa NPC. November 2022 therefore marks our quinquagenary of continuous publication.
Today, the IAJ is a truly international peer reviewed journal publishing high-quality, original research four times a year, seeking a balance between theoretical and empirical studies for the benefit of both academics and practitioners. Articles are received from over 40 countries. Merit is our only criterion, excellence our expectation; the rigour applied in the editorial process is such that the bar to getting published is extremely high.
This collection showcases the best articles of the past half century. We have included three articles from each Editor-in-Chief, of which there have been three, together with a further 17 from other authors who best represent the decades. The methodology is objective and scientifically determined, no different to what is required for regular issues.
Enjoy the read. I further invite you to explore on the Taylor & Francis website the Journal back catalogue of every issue dating back to 1972, representing an archival treasure-trove.
On behalf of the Investment Analysts Society of South Africa, I extend my gratitude to the many people involved in this endeavour.
