Proposing a Special Issue of the Journal of Sustainable Tourism

If you wish to discuss the possibility of a special issue please contact Journal of Sustainable Tourism Editor: Xavier Font ( [email protected]).

The proposers should make a case why the issue would be of interest to the Journal of Sustainable Tourism readership and include details of probable contributors. Special Issues are expected to be international in content and authorship. Specifically, proposals should include:

1. Title of proposed special issue.
2. Guest editor(s) name(s), affiliation(s) and contact details.
3. The name of the nominated guest editor to whom all correspondence will be directed.
4. Aim and scope of the special issue; this should address in 3-4 paragraphs the framing of the special issue, theoretical context and anticipated contribution to the field.
5. Process for recruiting papers; please include details of probable contributors if available.
6. Estimated timeline from call for papers to publication.
7. List of key references cited.

If accepted, any proposal for a special issue will have one of the Editors appointed as a Reporting Editor to assist the Guest Editor and be the first point of contact for the guest editors throughout the process, to ensure the quality of the issue.

Guest Editors should acknowledge that they will adhere to the Journal of Sustainable Tourism regulations as follows:
1. All final papers must comply with the journal’s author instructions and be in the approved journal style; See: http://www.tandfonline.com/action/authorSubmission?journalCode=rsus20&page=instructions
2. The Guest Editor(s) will have access to the ScholarOne (online) system so that the process is transparent to all parties.
3. Three referees will be required for all articles.
4. The Reporting Editor reserves the right to request additional refereeing.
5. Upon the recommendation of acceptance for publication, the ‘final’ version of papers will be forwarded to the Reporting Editor for any final comments and approval for publication.
