Journal overview

Communication Reports (CR), published quarterly, is one of two scholarly journals of the Western States Communication Association (WSCA). The journal publishes original manuscripts that are short, data/text-based, and related to the broadly defined field of human communication. The mission of the journal is to showcase exemplary scholarship without censorship based on topics, methods, or analytical tools. Articles that are purely speculative or theoretical, and not data analytic, are not appropriate for this journal. Authors are expected to devote a substantial portion of the manuscript to analyzing and reporting research data.

Communication Reports  is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to publishing scholarship that represents our global scholarly community. We understand that achieving these aims is an ongoing process that requires both commitment and proactive work. Toward these ends, we recognize the historical, social, cultural, economic, and disciplinary forces that shape our scholarship, and are committed to actively identifying and rejecting any racist or otherwise exclusionary practices, presumptions, perspectives, and language, regardless of intention. We also recognize the strength that diverse perspectives and experiences bring to our field, and are committed to ensuring that all individuals, regardless of ability, age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, race, sexual orientation, or other identities, are included, respected, and valued.

We gratefully acknowledge Vincent F. Follert, Jr. as the founder of Communication Reports. Publication of Communication Reports is supported, in part, by funds endowed by the late Dr. Follert.
