Higher Education Pedagogies is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal publishing across a wide range of teaching and learning methods within higher education.

Higher Education Pedagogies aims to identify, promote and publish excellence and innovations in the practice and theory of teaching and learning in and across all disciplines in higher education. The journal provides a forum on the sharing, dissemination and discussion of research, experience and perspectives across a wide range of teaching and learning issues within higher education. Higher Education Pedagogies also aims to be a valuable resource for individuals in the development and enhancement of their own practice, for programme and Faculty teams in utilizing and contributing to research through learning and teaching activities, and for institutions in the promotion of research-informed learning and teaching.

Higher Education Pedagogies covers a wide range of topics including:

  • Disciplinary and interdisciplinary pedagogies and learning experiences
  • The higher education curriculum (i.e. what is taught and how it is developed/enhanced including both skills and knowledge)
  • Delivery of the higher education curriculum including how it is taught and how students learn and develop academically
  • The role of teaching and learning in the development of academic careers and its place within the profession.

The journal welcomes papers which are accessible to both specialist and generalist readers and are theoretically and empirically rigorous. Higher Education Pedagogies is essential reading for all those who wish to stay informed of state-of-the-art teaching and learning developments in higher education.

Higher Education Pedagogies publishes original articles and operates a double anonymized peer review policy.
