This journal is a part of the Critical Insights series of selective, forward-thinking open access journals which will be led by recognised experts in the field. With a focus on good service for author, reader, editorial team and reviewer, the Critical Insights series ensures published articles represent the importance of the work and how it will influence where a field is going. This means you will receive speedy desk decisions, dedicated publisher staff and systems to enable high quality, responsive customer service and a focus on constructive and positive peer review and high production values to create the best version of the work.

The mission of Critical Insights in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is to promote forward-thinking research that integrates multi-scale approaches and techniques to investigate difficult questions in the field as interest in biochemistry and molecular biology has skyrocketed in recent years, bringing forth new insights to the nuanced events that govern life’s processes.

The introduction of new concepts that expand creative scholarship with integrated state-of-the-art technologies are the focus of the journal. Special interest includes multi-scale imaging, novel biochemical methods, advanced computational approaches that integrate theory and experimentation, along high-impact work that puts forth new paradigms for the community.

Coupled with advanced technologies researchers can now push the limit of possibilities to address challenging questions from the level of whole organisms to atoms. As the field continues to evolve, scientific approaches that expand knowledge through multi-dimensional strategies are needed to address both contemporary issues facing the world (from insights to disease to addressing environmental concerns), as well as satisfying our curiosity about the unseen, molecular-scale world.

Special topics are selected by the editorial board of well-established scientists across all disciplines of molecular sciences. The topics chosen are sufficiently broad to interest a wide audience of readers yet focused enough to be within the competence of a single author or group of authors.

Authors are encouraged to put forward their own unique perspective as part of their research findings to shape key concepts that expand conventional thinking in the field.

Articles may be invited or unsolicited and authors are invited to submit their work through the submission site for editorial assessment. Articles are considered and advanced to peer review that cover topics of broad interest or are focused on technical developments that give rise to new perspective and insights in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. With a focus on good service for author, reader, editorial team and reviewer, the Critical Insights series ensures published articles represent the importance of the work and how it will influence where a field is going.
