Journal overview

Editorial board

Geriatric Pharmacology is an Open Access peer-reviewed journal publishing research contributions that improve our understanding of how current pharmaceuticals behave in older adults and how newly developed pharmaceuticals will affect this patient group. The journal welcomes robust basic, translational, and clinical research on the development of treatments for conditions that typically affect older adults and covers topics such as omics applied to drug discovery and development, cellular and animal studies, dosage and adherence, clinical safety, deprescribing, polypharmacy, drug delivery, precision medicine, pharmacoepidemiology, and pharmacovigilance. We also welcome contributions on the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques for precision medicine, clinical studies in younger participant cohorts that have direct relevance for preventing and managing disease states in the older patient population, and qualitative studies on the use of medicine in older patients.

The journal’s audience includes pharmacologists, scientists and clinicians with an interest in geriatric medicine, gerontology, and related disciplines, pharmacists, nurses, and relevant patient groups.

The journal publishes Research Articles, Review Articles (narrative and systematic reviews and meta-analyses), unique Case Reports, Patient Perspectives, Letters to the Editor, Commentaries, and Data Notes. All articles received by the journal will be subject to single-anonymous peer review.
