Journal overview

The International Journal of Geotechnical Engineering (IJGE) currently publishes 10 issues a year. The aim of the journal is to provide an international platform for disseminating original research and innovative applications in geotechnical engineering. We welcome submissions in the following geotechnical engineering areas:

  • Advances in laboratory and field testing of soils
  • Advances in soil improvement and soil remediation
  • Advances in soil excavation, trenchless technology and soil-support systems
  • Foundations of onshore and offshore structures – new insights and innovations
  • New constitutive models of soil behaviour
  • Numerical modelling in geotechnical engineering – new technique or model, or applications to unique case studies
  • Reuse or recycle of construction wastes in geotechnical engineering projects with emphasis on sustainable engineering
  • Soil-structure interaction effects especially in underground infrastructures such as tunnels and pipelines.
  • Topics on innovative geomaterials or unique geotechnical engineering problems with relevant analytical and/or computational methods.

All submissions should demonstrate strong understanding and provide theoretical background. Submissions that fall outside the scope of the International Journal of Geotechnical Engineering will not be considered. These topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Rock mechanics
  • Ground motion
  • Earthquakes

International Journal of Geotechnical Engineering accepts the following types of article only: Research Article, Technical Note, Discussion.
