Special issue information

The Journal of the Philosophy of Sport welcomes proposals for Special Sections or Special Issues. Proposals should include: topic, Guest Editor, number of articles, and potential authors. If possible, all Special Section or Special Issue proposals should include as part of their plan a limited Call for Papers to consider contributions from as many authors as possible. Special Sections are typically five or six regular length articles (approximately 7,000 words each); Special Issues are approximately eleven articles. Proposals can be sent to the Journal Editor at any time, but must be received by July 1 in order to be considered by the full Editorial Board at the annual meeting at the IAPS conference in September of that year. Depending on the timing, proposals might be considered before the September meeting, but no later than that. Proposals will be judged on the basis of topic interest and relevance, quality of the proposed articles, familiarity of the Guest Editor and authors with the journal, and availability of journal space. The Guest Editor will assist the journal Editor in reviewing and editing the articles, but the journal Editor reserves the right to make final decisions about inclusion of articles.
