Degenerative Neurological and Neuromuscular Disease is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal focusing on research into all aspects of degenerative neurological and neuromuscular disease, identification of therapeutic targets and the optimal use of preventative and integrated treatment interventions to achieve improved outcomes, enhanced survival and quality of life for the patient.

Degenerative Neurological and Neuromuscular Disease will no longer consider meta-analyses for publication.

Specific topics covered in the journal include:

o Biological and clinical basis of degenerative neurological diseases including Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington’s disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and Friedreich’s ataxia
o Biological and clinical basis of degenerative neuromuscular diseases including Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Myasthenia Gravis and Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
o Natural history, epidemiology, detection and screening of these conditions
o Pathophysiology, causative agents and vectors, cellular research and biomarkers
o Identification of biotargets and agents with novel mechanisms of action
o Optimal clinical use of existing agents, including combination therapies
o Complementary and alternative medicine
o Palliative care
o Patient adherence, quality of life, satisfaction
o Health economic evaluations

This journal is a member of and subscribes to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics(COPE). It welcomes submitted papers covering original research, reviews and evaluations, guidelines, expert opinion and commentary, and extended reports.
