Submitting a special issue

The journal welcomes proposals for special issues that fit with the journal's aims and scope. Proposals are reviewed by the editors and revisions may be suggested before they are accepted. All special issues must be approved in advance and, even when accepted, the final published content remains subject to the peer review of the individual contributions.

A proposal is expected to include a minimum of 8-10 papers, excluding the guest editorial. Guest editors may host an open call for papers to attract additional submissions. Given the online only nature of the journal, all published papers will immediately appear in the journal’s current issue online, before being grouped as a permanent Collection on the journal’s website.

A minimum of 4 accepted papers is necessary for the special issue to be assembled, not including the guest editorial. If 3 or fewer papers are accepted they will be published as general articles.

If you would like to propose a special issue for publication in the journal, please complete the information sheet and submit it according to the instructions.
