The Association for the Study of Food and Society (ASFS)

The ASFS was founded in 1985, with the goals of promoting the interdisciplinary study of food and society. It has continued that mission by holding annual meetings; the first was in 1987 and since 1992, the meetings have been held jointly with the organization: Agriculture, Food & Human Values.

* Joint subscriptions are intended for two individuals who reside at the same residence and only wish to receive one copy of the journal, but each want full ASFS membership status.

Membership for the current year can be purchased online anytime during the year (1st Jan – 31st December) from the Taylor & Francis website.

Or, you can contact Taylor & Francis Customer Services directly to pay by credit or debit card, request a pro forma invoice or direct debit mandate form (UK only).

Please note that if you are joining later in the year, you will be sent a renewal for the following year shortly after your payment has been received. This is because the ASFS begins their membership renewal cycle before the start of the calendar year to ensure that members have continuous access to their benefits and the journal.
