Samuel Proffitt Driver

Samuel Proffitt Driver is a PhD Candidate in Slavic Studies at Brown University. He is a Fulbright-Hays DDRA Fellow, a Stanford US–Russia Forum Arts & Culture Fellow, a Research Fellow at the Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archives at CEU, and a Member of the Younger Generation Leaders Network on Euro-Atlantic Security (YGLN). His research is centered around photography and truth in the USSR, Russian contemporary art activism, and Russian poetry in translation. In 2022, he attended the Bread Loaf Translator’s Conference and is in the process of completing a collected works manuscript of an early twentieth century Russian poet.
