The Journal has an intentionally broad scope and welcomes original research articles and reviews that directly and/or indirectly relate to specific fields of interest which include but are not limited to:

- analysis of algorithms
- applied computational algebra
- artificial intelligence
- automata
- the big data phenomenon
- bio-informatics
- brain-computer interfaces
- cloud computing
- computational complexity
- computational aspects of combinatorics and graph algorithmics
- computational geometry
- computer graphics
- computational logic
- computational mathematics
- computational number theory

- networks
- novel models of computation such as DNA and quantum computing;
- parameterized complexity
- randomization
- semantics
- statistical learning theory
- symbolic computation
- theoretical computer science

The Journal provides a forum for the expression of new ideas, as well as a place for exposition of these areas of knowledge. Papers considering applications and analysis of computational mathematics should be submitted to the sister Journal, International Journal of Computer Mathematics (IJCM).

Review Papers
Occasionally, review articles are solicited on current state-of-the-art research.

Papers developed from Conference Proceedings
Please note that papers developed from conference proceedings or previously published work must contain at least 40% new material and significantly extend or improve upon earlier research.

Special Issues
Proposals for special issues in cutting-edge areas are encouraged, and should be discussed with the Editors-in-Chief.

Peer-Review Policy
All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor-in-Chief, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to rigorous and rapid peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is single-blind and submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts: https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/commat
