The Doug Risner Prize for Emerging Dance Researchers recognizes excellence in dance education research from emerging scholars who conduct outstanding empirically-based dance inquiry.
This annual prize honors Dr. Doug Risner, Editor Emeritus of the Journal of Dance Education, in recognition of his outstanding leadership as Editor, passionate commitment to dance research and dance education, and his generous support of the National Dance Education Organization.
Winning papers, authored by those who are previously unpublished, are empirically-based Feature Articles and address an array of topics in dance education.
