Global Security: Health, Science and Policy is an international open access, peer-reviewed journal publishing research related to transnational threats to humankind.

Global Security serves as a focal point for security and health information resources and as a tool for mitigating problems across an array of global issues, with the aim of making the world a safer place. The journal seeks to foster interdisciplinary communication at the intersection of health, science and policy and attracts a diverse readership seeking a common platform for discussion and debate.

Global Security is tailored to the interests of research scientists, applied scientists, health professionals, toxicologists, risk analysts and policy makers, as well as the intelligence and defense communities.

The broad scope of Global Security is a distinguishing characteristic of the journal and encourages synergies between different fields. Areas of research include:

  • Chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive threats (CBRNE)
  • Cybersecurity, crime, warfare, and terrorism
  • Public health (including disease pandemics, food safety/security, and psychosocial implications)
  • Climate, energy, and environmental security
  • Peace and diplomacy studies, political and economic security
  • Data fusion and other cutting-edge topics

Global Security: Health, Science and Policy accepts research articles. Please note that hard science articles published in the journal are accompanied by a précis describing broader health or environmental implications of the research.

The journal operates a single-anonymous peer review policy.

All articles will be made freely and permanently available online through gold open access publication.
